Broker Setup

Proovly runs on real broker infrastructure. You open a real MT5 cent account at a licensed broker, you deposit real money, and you trade real market fills. We never hold your deposit.

Phase 1 supports two brokers: RoboForex and Exness. Both are established, both offer cent accounts, both run MT5, both accept EAs. Pick whichever works best for your jurisdiction and your preferences — our rules engine doesn’t care which one you use.

You need:

  • A funded USDC wallet on Base (for the challenge entry fee)
  • A valid government ID (the broker handles KYC — not Proovly)
  • A small amount of starting capital in your broker account (the tier starting balance from the rules)
  • A working MT5 installation on a PC, VPS, or Mac

You do not need:

  • A corporate entity
  • A minimum net worth
  • Professional trader certification
  • Real-world residency in any specific country (subject to the broker’s own geo-restrictions — check their T&Cs)
  1. Open your Proovly dashboard. Click “Open RoboForex Account.” This takes you to RoboForex’s signup page with our IB code pre-filled in the URL — leave it there or our rebate doesn’t track.
  2. Complete RoboForex’s signup form. Use an email you check regularly; confirmation emails land quickly.
  3. Complete KYC. RoboForex usually verifies within a few hours for straightforward cases.
  4. Once your account is verified, from your RoboForex client area: create a Pro-Cent account (or whatever their current cent-account product name is — the key is that balances and lot sizes are denominated in cents, not full dollars).
  5. Fund the account with the tier starting balance.
  6. Download MT5 from RoboForex’s platform page. Log in with the credentials for the cent account you just created.
  7. Come back to your Proovly dashboard and enter your cent-account login number in the “Link Broker Account” form.
  1. Open your Proovly dashboard. Click “Open Exness Account.” Same thing: our IB code is in the URL, leave it in place.
  2. Complete Exness signup and KYC. Exness verification is usually faster than RoboForex.
  3. In Exness Personal Area, create a new Standard Cent account on MT5.
  4. Fund the account with the tier starting balance.
  5. Download Exness MT5. Log in with the cent-account credentials.
  6. Come back to Proovly and enter the account login number.

Same for both brokers. Full walkthrough on the EA install page, but the short version:

  1. Download Proovly.ex5 from your Proovly dashboard.
  2. In MT5, go to File → Open Data Folder. Navigate to MQL5/Experts/.
  3. Copy Proovly.ex5 into that folder.
  4. In MT5, press Ctrl+N to refresh the Navigator, then drag Proovly onto any chart.
  5. In the EA settings dialog, paste your Challenge ID and API key from your dashboard.
  6. Critical: MT5 blocks outbound HTTP by default. You must whitelist our ingest URL:
    • Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequest for listed URL
    • Add the Proovly ingest URL (shown on your dashboard)
  7. Click OK. A smiley face appears in the chart’s top-right corner. You’re streaming.

A cent account lets you deposit $100 and trade as if you had $10,000 — balances, equity, and P&L are denominated in cents. This matters for two reasons:

  1. You can take meaningful position sizes with small starting capital. A Bronze tier challenge is $1,000 starting balance, which would be too small for minimum lot sizes on a standard account. On a cent account it’s fine.
  2. You can lose the full starting balance without catastrophic real-money risk. The drawdown rules cap your loss at 10% of peak equity, so even in a worst-case breach scenario you lose a fraction of your deposit.

Our rules engine sees balances and equity in whatever denomination your cent account reports them in — it normalises on the server side. You don’t have to do any conversion math.

What if I already have an account at RoboForex or Exness?

Section titled “What if I already have an account at RoboForex or Exness?”

You can use an existing account only if:

  • It is a cent account type
  • It is not already running an active Proovly challenge under a different Challenge ID
  • You are willing to reset it to your tier’s starting balance at the start of the challenge window

One broker account can only host one active Proovly challenge at a time. Opening a fresh cent account per challenge is the cleanest path.

What if my country isn’t supported by either broker?

Section titled “What if my country isn’t supported by either broker?”

Both brokers have their own geo-restrictions. If neither RoboForex nor Exness accepts you, Proovly cannot host your challenge in Phase 1. We’re watching for additional broker partners in Phase 2, but the IB-first strategy means we only onboard brokers where we already have a working relationship.
